The Mysteries of Ready-To-Drink Orange Juice

Ever since we started this business in 2001, people have been asking why our OJ tastes so good and what makes it different to the other bottled OJ on the shelf.
Here's a quick guide to what's out there ranked in order of Deliciousness:
1. Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice: This is the ultimate. You take the oranges from your fruit bowl, slice in two Ninja style, squeeze the juice out and drink. Can also be bought from a juice bar, expressed before your eyes.
2. Freshly Squeezed Pasteurised Orange Juice: This is squeezed in a little juice factory (like ours), gently pasteurised (like milk to kill the nasty bacteria), immediately chilled, bottled and sent in the early morning to your cafe/convenience/canteen. E.G. Wild Orange Orange Juice
3. Not-From-Concentrate (NFC): This juice is normally expressed somewhere like Florida or Brazil, pasteurised and then frozen. It's shipped frozen to Europe and then pasteurised and packed in bottles and cartons for distribution and sale in the chill section. E.G. Dawn, Tropicana
4. From Concentrate: The juice is expressed close to the growers in Brazil, Florida, Spain, Italy, Argentina and then the water portion is boiled or evaporated off, leaving behind a concentrated material. This is frozen and shipped in tankers or drums all over the world. At the bottling plant local water is used to reconstitute the juice to single strength and any flavours lost during evaporation can be added back. E.G. Squeez.
There you go. Have a look at the label of your favourite juice and you should be able to see which type it is.
